Costume And Dress

We encourage everyone to dress in Scottish or Viking garb, however any Medieval style will do.

Remember coming in costume is not mandatory but strongly encouraged.

There are a few guidelines to keep in mind when dressing in costume.

Be creative with your outfits and have fun with them but please try to be somewhat realistic.

Basically that means no horned helmets or fairy creatures.

Also please remember that the wedding will be outside, and that the wedding and reception will be on public property so you may

Carry medieval weapons if you desire but please treat them with the respect a weapon deserves.

Other than that have fun. Below are some links to websites that may be of some use in your costume creation. Some are links to websites where you can purchase costumes and accessories. Others are designed to help you make your own outfit, including a few online patterns. Still others simply provide pictures or details, designed to give you inspiration and ideas of what you are trying for, as an assistant you in your own construction. Some links appear a couple of times due to their multiple applications.

Update Local rental- There is a store in Middlefield, OH where costumes can be rented for $30 per costume; you get them for six days allowing plenty of time to return them. This includes all accessories expect shoes. Unfortunately they do not have a web site but they do have a massive number of nice costumes. I would suggest calling and talking to them to get an idea of what you want before going down there. Here is the address information for the place.
