Julius Szorady, died December 15, 2008

Tonight my friend, Julies Szorady,  lost a long hard battle to cancer.

Tonight the Szorady/Call family lost a loving husband, devoted father proud grandfather and dedicated Christian.

Burton Township residents lost someone who cared about them, about his community, and worked hard for the resident's health, safety and well being. His Burton Township - his refuge from the city - his own special place.

Jay had a positive attitude that never failed him throughout the past year. He had nothing but good things to say about others, even when they wronged him. He loved his family, his job and the political world. He was a humble man who enjoyed the company of his friends and even though he was in severe pain at the end, he wanted to hear about what was going on - about what was happening in the county party as well as on the state and national level.

We will all miss Jay Szorady. Rest in peace, my friend, free from pain.

Till we meet again.

Say not in grief: "He is no more",
but live in thankfulness that he was.

Hebrew Proverb

Let no one weep for me, or celebrate my funeral with mourning; for I still live, as I pass to and fro through the mouths of men.

Quintus Ennius
