November 4, 2008 - Happy Birthday, Duke! He is four years old today.
This has been an incredible journey. I have been to a 5K mud race, hound hikes, car shows, clam bakes, chicken dinners, steak roasts, art presentations, chamber meetings, church summer festivals, Woofstocks, cat adoption days, Ducks Unlimited committee meetings in a pavilion in the woods, fundraisers, senior dances, miscellaneous dinners, senior lunches, - you name it - I have been there.
I have met firemen, policemen, working moms, stay at home moms, stay at home dads, working dads, more attorneys, more doctors, celebrities political and otherwise, men, women, children, cats, dogs, and horses.
I have been helped by some wonderful people - friends - strangers and people who were strangers and became friends.
I have learned that running for politics is a lonely road, even when you are surrounded by people. I have learned first hand that it is often other women who are the ones who hinder the women's movement. As a group, we often are our own worst enemy and that is a very sad realization.
On the other hand, I have been helped by some wonderful, caring women individually and as groups, who truly want to see their sisters succeed and that is a very positive realization.
I have been helped by some dynamic men who really gave it their all when they really didn't have to...they had faith in me. For that I am incredibly thankful.
For all of what has happened to me in the last year, I am incredibly thankful. After what I have been through in the past year, I feel like I could do anything anywhere.
THANK YOU EVERY ONE WHO HAD A PART IN THIS CAMPAIGN. I APPRECIATE ALL YOU HAVE DONE.

Rescue a German Shepherd Today

This is my Dog, Duke. He was rescued from the Youngstown area, by his breeder. She took him back from the person she sold him to because that person was abusing him. When she got him, his ears were infected, he was 20 pounds underweight. One of his ears had a hole through it and was badly bent, the other has a chunk out of the tip of it. Look at the difference in his ears now (see main page)! Now, he is well and gaining weight. Get this, Duke was born "John Wayne" from Kridler-Signature Litter on November 2, 2004 - election day. Is that ironic or what?
Duke is a "working dog." He is working on my campaign for Recorder!
Anyhow, here is his first mother's home page Kridler's German Shepherds
