News From Us

Holiday Greetings to all our friends and family!  We enjoyed all the cards, letters, pictures, gifts, and good company!  Thanks to everyone.

We had a white Christmas here in Ohio.  Christmas eve and Christmas day we got a record snowfall for Christmas day of 10.5 inches.  It was pretty but driving was bad on Christmas day if you had to drive anywhere.

It has been a good year.  Terry’s kept busy building things and fixing people’s houses up.  Currently he’s working on roughing in an addition in the snow!  Brrrr!   He experimented with heirloom seeds in the garden this year.  The vegetables were much better than usual.  Next year Terry wants to try saving the seeds from his vegetables for planting the following season.  Yum, yum.  The honey bees were quite productive this year, they made about 400 pounds of honey.  Double yum, yum.  Diane is a bookkeeper for a company that rep’s commercial roofing products, and a sister company that manufactures under shingle ridge vents.  Work is very hectic right now with year end activities, on top of which she just got a new computer system with upgraded software she has to figure out.  She still likes to read, putter with herbs and flowers in the garden, and enjoy the outdoors in the summer.  If you know of any good books to read, drop an e-mail!  We have made a few minor home improvements this year.  The best improvement we accomplished this fall was a small stone patio we made.  It really turned out nice.  We harvested all the rocks from our tree line and Mom and Dad Wittlinger’s ravine.  We’re anxious to see how it holds up to the winter heaving, so far so good.  Stacy’s is doing good, she is in the 8th grade this year.  She has been a proud member of the honor society for the last 2 years.  She really enjoys swimming.  She is on a synchronized swimming team at the YMCA, swim team at school, and a member of the Porpoise club at the YMCA where she assists swim instructors with their classes.  She enjoys music and plays the piano, percussion in band, and the radio.

To our relatives in Texas, there’s something wrong here.  We’ve got blustery, snowy winters and you’re the ones with fireplaces!  Come to think of it, you relatives in Tennessee have fireplaces too.  Oh well…..  we did get the white Christmas.  To those in Georgia, what’s happenin???  North Carolina – how do you like it there?  all unpacked?  And to those that came home from England, we’re glad to have you back!
