INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPLOADING YOUR WEB PAGE

After having us set-up for website for you if you do not already you will need some FTP (File Transfer Protocol) software to transfer the html files your create to our server. To obtain this you will need to pieces of software, first the unzipping program which will allow you to install the actual FTP program and second obtain the FTP program. To do this goto our software index. and download WINZIP for windows and WS_FTP.

Once you have WINZIP 6.1 installed you now want to download WSFTP32a.ZIP so click on WSFTP32a.ZIP to begin downloading. Your web browser will now ask you where to save the file, select your desktop. If you encounter an error and your browser says application error could not interpret file type select the SAVE AS BUTTON and save onto your desktop.

Now WSFTP32a.ZIP should be on your desktop. Double click on it to open the file. WINZIP should have already detected its presence and using the wizard interface it will guide you through the unzip procedures. Once you have WSFTP32a.ZIP unzipped open the file and it will give you an option choose WS_FTP.EXE . This will immediately bring up an access menu, under host name insert ftp.nls.net, under host type make sure it says automatic detect, then insert your user id and your password. Also make sure to leave remote host blank. .Click OK.

This will open up a window, the left hand side of the window is a list of directories, folders, and files of your computer and on the right is your web space (which is probably empty if this is the first time you've visited it). To upload documents to your web space simply highlight the document(s) in the left window and then click the arrow ( -> ) to copy it to your new web space. To download from your new web space to your computer the process is essentially the same. Just highlight the document in the right side of your margin and click on the arrow ( <- ) . This will copy the highlighted file from your web space to your computer.
